Filip Nguyen Returns to Vietnam to Play for Hanoi Police Club

Filip Nguyen, the overseas Vietnamese goalkeeper, has returned to Vietnam to play for the Hanoi Police Club, much to the delight of his father, Mr. Nguyen Minh. After a connecting flight from Dubai to Noi Bai airport, Filip arrived in Hanoi and swiftly completed immigration procedures before heading to the hotel to rest.

Representatives from the Hanoi Police Club and Filip Nguyen's family were present at the airport to welcome him. Mr. Nguyen Minh, along with other relatives, eagerly awaited his arrival, feeling both nervous and excited about his son's return to competitive football.

The representative from the club greeted Filip with a conical hat adorned with the Vietnamese flag motifs, symbolizing his return to his homeland. Excitedly, Filip posed for a photo with the hat and expressed his joy, saying, "I'm home."

"I am thrilled to be back and can't wait to don the Hanoi Police Club's jersey. I am ready to embrace the challenges that lie ahead in the Vietnamese football environment," shared Filip Nguyen.

On June 30, at noon, Filip Nguyen is expected to sign a three-year contract with the Hanoi Police Club. This signing will be officially announced in a press conference attended by local and Vietnamese media. With his transfer, Filip becomes the most expensive signing in the team's history and the second-largest contract after Nguyen Quang Hai.

According to reports from the Czech press, the Hanoi Police Club had to invest 18 billion VND (approximately $783,000) to secure the signature of the 31-year-old goalkeeper. This valuation aligns with his worth on the international player transfer and valuation site, Transfermarkt.

Prior to his return to Vietnam, Filip Nguyen completed the necessary procedures to terminate his contract with Slovacko Club after spending two seasons with the Czech team. He amassed a total of 76 appearances across all competitions and maintained 19 clean sheets in the league. The overseas Vietnamese goalkeeper has also been called up to the Czech Republic national team on multiple occasions.
