Sadio Mane, the former Liverpool player now at Bayern Munich, has publicly addressed the incident where he punched his teammate Leroy Sane following their defeat to Manchester City in the Champions League last season.
Mane received a one-match ban and was fined 500,000 euros for his actions. In a recent statement, he acknowledged that conflicts can arise but emphasized the importance of finding peaceful resolutions. Mane expressed that the incident is now in the past and that he is focused on fighting for the club's goals in the upcoming season, as reported by the Daily Mail.
The Senegalese striker, who is currently enjoying his vacation with his family, reflected on his decision to join Bayern Munich and acknowledged that he anticipated facing challenges. Mane stated that he is always motivated by conquering challenges, and joining Bayern was a significant one for him.
Mane's first season with Bayern did not yield remarkable results. He scored only seven goals and provided five assists in 25 appearances. The striker also found himself on the bench for important matches at the Allianz Arena.
According to a recent survey, 41.7% of fans consider Mane to be the worst signing of the 2022/23 Bundesliga season. German media outlets have also reported that Mane is on coach Thomas Tuchel's list of potential departures this summer, along with Sane, Serge Gnabry, Bouna Sarr, Alexander Nubel, Marcel Sabitzer, and Benjamin Pavard.
Regarding his future, Mane stated that if everything goes well, he intends to return to Bayern Munich and give his all for the team. Despite being linked to Al-Ettifaq Club in Saudi Arabia, Bayern has not received any official offers for Mane's transfer.
