Nguyen Van Tung's early goal gave Vietnam U22 an advantage over Laos

Nguyen Van Tung's early goal proved to be the difference as Vietnam U22 clinched a comfortable victory against Laos in their opening match of the 32nd SEA Games. The match, which took place on the evening of April 30, saw Van Tung, a player of Hanoi FC, score the first goal for Vietnam U22 in just the second minute of the game.

Van Tung's goal came from a well-executed header from Nguyen Thanh Nhan's accurate cross, leaving the Laos goalkeeper Thilavong with no chance to save. After the early goal, coach Philippe Troussier's army dominated the game, creating numerous opportunities to score. However, they failed to convert them into more goals due to the impressive performance of Thilavong.

Laos U22, on the other hand, showed that they were not easy to bully as they actively organized raids and counterattacks, making it difficult for Vietnam U22 to have a comfortable second half of the first half. However, due to their dependence on Roman Angot, coach Michael Weiss' army failed to cause a real storm for the U22 Vietnam goal.

Despite the lack of goals, Vietnam U22 played confidently, and their overwhelming game ensured that they clinched a comfortable victory over Laos. The team displayed promising signs for the remainder of the tournament, and coach Philippe Troussier will be hoping that they can build on this performance in their upcoming matches. The victory over Laos will undoubtedly boost the confidence of the team, and they will be eager to continue their winning form in the tournament.
