PSG Secures Lucas Hernandez Signing from Bayern Munich

On the evening of June 29, Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) reached an agreement with Bayern Munich to sign midfielder Lucas Hernandez. The French player is set to make his debut for PSG after completing a medical check in Paris.

According to L'Equipe, the contract between PSG and Lucas Hernandez is for a period of 5 years. This transfer deal comes shortly after Bayern Munich reached a personal agreement with Kim Min-jae, and the amount received from Lucas' sale is equal to the release clause for Kim's move to Napoli, which is 50 million euros.

Lucas had already agreed to personal terms with PSG prior to the transfer. The 2018 World Cup winner is excited about returning to his home country to compete.

Four years ago, Bayern Munich had spent 80 million euros to sign Lucas from Atletico Madrid. However, a series of injuries hindered his progress and prevented him from reaching his full potential as a world-class player. Towards the end of 2022, Lucas suffered a serious knee injury while on international duty at the World Cup. At that time, the 27-year-old player even contemplated the possibility of retirement.

Lucas Hernandez will be PSG's third signing in the summer transfer window, following the acquisitions of Marco Asensio from Real Madrid and Manuel Ugarte from Sporting Lisbon. The additions of these talented players aim to strengthen PSG's squad as they pursue further success in domestic and international competitions.
