Mason Mount, the talented English midfielder, has decided to join Manchester United after expressing dissatisfaction with Chelsea's contract extension offer. Despite the intentions of coach Mauricio Pochettino to keep Mount at Chelsea, a conflict arose when the club's salary offer to the player was deemed insufficient.

According to reports from Metro, Mount was disappointed with the disparity between his salary and that of his teammates at Chelsea. Even rookies in the team were offered higher incomes than Mount, who has been a key player for the club. Currently, Mount's salary at Chelsea is said to be less than £100,000 per week, making it one of the lowest figures in the team.

In contrast, Manchester United has expressed interest in signing Mount and is prepared to offer him a substantial increase in salary. The reported offer from Man United is £250,000 per week, which can rise to £300,000 per week when including bonuses. This would put Mount's income on par with other key players at Manchester United, such as Casemiro, Bruno Fernandes, and Raphael Varane.

Furthermore, coach Erik ten Hag has outlined a specific plan for Mount's role in the Manchester United squad, which likely influenced the player's decision to leave his boyhood club. Mount underwent a medical examination at Carrington on July 3, and fans are eagerly awaiting the official announcement from Manchester United regarding his transfer.

After four rounds of negotiations, Manchester United and Chelsea reached an agreement on the transfer, with the total contract value reportedly being £60 million. This makes Mount the third most expensive midfielder in the history of Manchester United, behind only Paul Pogba (£90 million) and Casemiro (£61 million).

The transfer saga highlights the salary dispute between Mount and Chelsea, ultimately leading to his decision to make the move to Manchester United, where he will have the opportunity to further his career and receive a significant pay increase.
