Vietnamese Women's Football Team Brave Cold Weather in Practice Session

On the evening of July 6, the Vietnamese women's football team took to the field for a practice session after a few hours of rest. The team trained at McLean Park in Napier, New Zealand, where they will soon compete in a friendly match against the host country. The players had to endure temperatures as low as 10 degrees Celsius.

The chilly weather slightly affected the mobility of Coach Mai Duc Chung's players. However, the team remained active and made concerted efforts to execute the exercises under the coach's guidance, aiming to quickly adapt to the local conditions.

Thanks to the physical foundation built during previous training sessions in Germany and Poland, as well as the practice time at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center before departing, the team is generally in good shape and able to complete the exercises smoothly.

The training session was fast-paced, lasting about an hour, and focused on ball control exercises. On July 7, the team will have two training sessions in the morning and afternoon to enhance their physical strength and regain their peak condition for the upcoming matches.

"The Vietnamese women's football team followed the planned schedule. Despite arriving earlier than scheduled, FIFA and the local organizers warmly welcomed the team, made all the necessary arrangements, and informed everyone about the team's arrival, allowing us to continue our journey to Napier and prepare for the friendly match against the New Zealand women's team on July 10," stated team leader Truong Hai Tung.

The players are well aware of the need to take proactive measures, such as keeping warm, eating properly, and preparing appropriate equipment to combat the cold weather. Their conscientious approach ensures they are not caught off guard by the chilly conditions during their time in New Zealand.
